Page 2 of my day on set.

The star map and locator device, very cool.

22.jpg (117192 bytes)

The set is just incredible, it's huge and incredibly detailed.

23.jpg (98502 bytes)

It's a maze of hallways, corridors, rooms and sets.

24.jpg (104661 bytes)

Another shot of the Stargate, can you tell I have a thing for it???

25.jpg (103810 bytes)26.jpg (107879 bytes)

Close up of the controls, the knobs do turn and stuff but of course don't actually do anything. I love the spiral staircase, took a trip up for the fun of it.

27.jpg (104748 bytes)

The Iris, there's this big crane it's attached to and when it's needed to be in front of the gate it's put in position and held there securely. When they show it moving, they use digital imaging to create the effect. This Iris doesn't move.

28.jpg (108843 bytes)

A MALP, it does work and move on it's own, but they use the pallet jack to put it in place to make it easier and save time.

29.jpg (96312 bytes)

Thor's box, where he's usually stored. He was in a different case that day because he was going to be used for that week.

31.jpg (91602 bytes)

After they took a break again, Chris and Amanda came out and talked to me. I gave them the gifts I brought them and got pictures with them. I kidded around with Chris, he had remembered me from the first Gatecon and we joked around about that. He and Amanda were being quite silly and very nice, hugging me and chatting about my visit and asked if I was enjoying myself. I was of course in heaven and was loving every minute of it.

32.jpg (89331 bytes)

Chris loved his bear, it was a golfing bear. See, he's afraid of bears and loves golfing so I told him that I put the 2 together as a joke, he loved it.

33.jpg (96619 bytes)

Then I gave Amanda her Gazelle, she really loved it too, and gave me a big hug and kissed my cheek. Chris thought it was very cool too. I told her how hard it was to find and she said she'd actually been having the same problem herself. Guess she's been looking for one for herself and can't find them either.

34.jpg (121537 bytes)

So, she was really thankful and hugged me again. Then I gave her the disks with pictures from last years con and she loved those as well. I had given her disks of the first years pictures at Gatecon 2001. You see, I put together disks of the person and fun shots of them at the con and other fun stuff I think they might like, then give them to them at the following con or whenever I have a chance. Since Chris wasn't there last year he didn't get any.

35.jpg (85346 bytes)36.jpg (92159 bytes)

That smile, she has the best smile. You can see the lipstick on my cheek, a wonderful souvenir!!! Then they had to go, so we said our good byes and I gathered up my stuff to go and meet Corin. He was hanging out on set waiting for his next scene, close ups with he and Richard. I was introduced to him and he shook my hand and asked me if I was enjoying myself. We chatted a bit about the show and he said something about only being seen in one episode so far so he's ready to be out there and see the response of the fans. He was really sweet and nice and polite. We decided to get pics on the bridge of the new spaceship, so what little you see in the background is the first shots of the new American spaceship.

37.jpg (93065 bytes)

He graciously posed for 2 pics with me and then we had to move cause a guy was taking stills for the studio. We talked along the way and he told me to have fun, which I was totally having, and he went off to his trailer.

38.jpg (94090 bytes)

That's the trailers in the parking lot outside the studio. John DeLancie was the guest star on one of the episodes, I think the 2nd one they were doing so he showed up earlier and was walking around set. I saw him several times and we stood next to each other once while watching them film the close ups. He looked at me, smiled and nodded and I did the same back. He seemed nice enough but I didn't want to bother him since I'm sure he wasn't expecting a fan to be there.

39.jpg (97341 bytes)

I did however get this pic of him walking back to his trailer right before lunch. He had on a big black fleece jacket and greenish slacks, nice shoes, and he had a nice watch on. I used to be in the watch business, I notice these things.

40.jpg (142260 bytes)

Anyway, I was told we could catch Richard as he was leaving for the airport to get a picture with me so we went and waited by his car and got ready. It was kind of funny cause the doors were open and the driver was ready to go, it was like some kind of get away driver thing. Anyway, I heard him in his trailer, that's the awning of his trailer behind us, and knew he was coming. I turned and watched as he came and he walked right up to me, put his arm around me, gave me a small hug, and we posed for the picture. I was introduced to him and he kissed my head and we posed for the 2nd shot. Then I shook his hand and thanked him for everything, told him it was wonderful to meet him, even if it was brief and I loved the show. He apologized for it being so short and said good bye. Then before he closed the door I told him to have fun on the show, he yelled back, he would. Then he drove off.

41.jpg (138537 bytes)

I was a bit stunned by the kiss on the head so that's why I look all silly here. Hehehehehehe!!!! Yeah it was very cool to meet him and I wish we could have talked a bit more but that's ok, I didn't expect anything so I wasn't disappointed. I was just glad to be there.

42.jpg (95363 bytes)

Then we found out that Don and Teryl were there for their scenes that afternoon so we went up to see them. They both remembered me as well and we had fun together. They were in the front office area and when I came in I got hugs and kisses from them and then we decided to do pics on the couch. So, we plunked down and then the dogs decided to join us. The set is very dog friendly. There's this pack of dogs that runs around and at any given time there's like 4 to 9 of them. I did see this border collie mix that looks like the one used in that episode where O'Neill and Maybourne go to the senator's house and it's his dog. Well, not sure if it's the same dog, but it was cute, very smart and well trained. That's Teryl's white dog on our laps, very cute and loving, he licked my nose, I think his name was Bodie. We tried to pose but the dog was having none of that.

43.jpg (143328 bytes)

We had a great time laughing and posing and playing with the dogs. You can't see them but there's like 6 other dogs around us.

44.jpg (104386 bytes)

I gave Teryl her turtle necklace which she loved, she put it on and it went perfect on her. I also gave her the disks of pictures from Gatecon and gave Don his disks too. He said he'd have his secretary put them on CD so he could look at them easily. He's not a real computer guy and really wanted to see them. So, we sat and joked around, then we had to go to lunch.

At lunch we went through the kraft service line and joined the cast and crew for lunch, only Corin and John were there with the executives that I knew. A few other crew members I remembered and people I had met that day were there too. I sat with my friend and we enjoyed each other's company and good food. I saved my root beer can to bring to the next Gatecon, I figure I can have everyone sign it, it's different, and we all know how much I like to be different. Anyway, Lunch was fun and then it was back to work for everyone.
