Sunday continued.....
Now we go.

After we got settled in, we sat out on the balcony and watched the boats going by, the planes flying by overhead, and the clouds roll in. It poured, then it stopped. It poured, then it stopped.

Eventually it stopped completely and then we left the dock. The boats always sound off their horns as they leave and everyone around the area comes out to wave good bye to you. It's funny to see people coming out on their balconies and waving to you as you go by. Some people even have banners and use air horns. I guess it's just what they do, but it's fun to wave to all these strangers and say "I'm going on a cruise and you're not!!!" in a very childish teasing kind of way, repeating it several times while bouncing up and down.

Someday I will have to spend some time here on the beaches just to see what they're actually like, when it's not raining of course. This ship left right behind us, it was a bit bigger I think, forget what line it was.

I'll always be amazed at how long the coastline is and the beaches that run along it. When it's perfect out it must be beautiful. We started to lose the other ship, I was glad we had the faster ship, you never know when you'll need a fast ship for a quick get away.

The other side of the coastline. We're so kickin' that other boat's ass!!!

Ok, so then mom's like stand there, and I'm like, what??? And she says, pose. So, I pose. Man it's windy, can you tell??????/

We tried to get the city behind us. I like this shot of mom. It's cool the way our hair whips around.

After we got done playing photographer, we decided to go to dinner. We changed and prepared for our first night on the cruise. It was casual dress, so I wore jeans and a sweater. Mom has all kinds of beautiful tropical stuff to wear. She decided on this pretty blue flowered number for the evening. I always get cold so I bring a jacket everywhere I go inside the ship. They keep it air conditioned all the time, even if it's not that hot out. We sat up in the balcony in the dinning room, non-smoking section, way to go mom. Thanks!!! Our dinning companions were 2 women, Rachel and Marilyn, granddaughter and grandmother. They were great, we hit it off immediately and spent all night talking and getting to know each other. Rachel was 21, and was eager to hit the Crow's Nest lounge upstairs. I filled her in on my past travels and told her that was my plan too. We decided to meet there after dinner.
When I got there she was already seated at the bar and half done with her first drink. I ordered a drink and we talked while waiting for some good music. We learned the DJ was new and he still wasn't familiar with the system or the music yet. He finally played stuff I liked and I wanted to dance but no one was dancing. So, I danced at our seat at the bar for a while, but then I needed more room, so I went out on the dance floor all by myself. Finally a guy who'd been watching me came and joined me. After the song was over, he brought me over to meet his friend who was trying to talk the DJ into playing better music. I found out that they worked on the ship as entertainers. I almost fainted, I laughed, and stepped back like I was afraid of them. They were like, "What?" I told them that I met the comedian on the last Holland America cruise I was on and I just didn't think my luck was that bizarre. He said he was a comedian and he knew Nick and I just laughed and laughed at my totally insane luck. How is it that I met the comedians on both cruises. His name was Mike Robinson, a ventriloquist actually, and his friend was Greg Frewin, the magician. I introduced them to Rachel, and we ended up spending the night dancing and hanging together. We found out that Mike had done his show earlier that night and we missed it. We apologized profusely and said we wouldn't miss another one of their shows. Actually it was never announced that he was on and if you didn't check your daily program, you never would have known he was on. Next time I'll remember to check it, promise!!
Now we move on to Monday.......
