We docked at Hilo, on the right side, then drove all the way over to Kona for our tour.

Our first stop was at an orchid farm. It was cool but I really didn't want to know everything there was to know about orchids. They smelled great, made great picture subjects and then we left. :)

The last pic is at a different spot. We went to a lava tree park where lava had run over this forest and kind of petrified the trees. The forest had grown back and was very cool but you had to watch out for lava tube holes, sometimes the ground gave way where the tunnels collapsed.

More cool trees and flowers. There's a lava tree now, I've got my video camera on it, don't move or I'll shoot.

Mom and I pose with a tree, well, what's left of a tree.

Now there's a cool tree. And a flower. Ok, now we're at our snorkel spot. It was gorgeous, natural hot springs came up below us and made the water kind of weird, like heat on a paved road, but it was warm and full of fish of all kinds. Not deep and very calm except for the current that ran strong, but no waves.

You could snorkel in this area all day and really enjoy it. The ocean roared just off the break that was at the end of the little cove we were in and it was spectacular.

Mom got this pic of me, I'm ready to go!!! The next pic is a long thin fish about 2 feet long and silvery grey, called a Needle fish.
