The Veendam, it was cloudy starting out, got nicer and then clouded up again. Folks hanging out on the front deck. I love catamarans, and the crew was so nice, and they had great music going all the time too.

Our first stop was for snorkelers, still early, cloudy, and the water was a bit cold for me. I stayed on board while mom went out and had fun. I had rum punch and snacks. After a while, I went for a swim, the water was so salty I had to rinse off afterward. I had seen other people use a fresh water hose to rinse off, so I figured I'd try it. My luck, it didn't work, I thought it might be out of water or we were getting ready to leave and they turned it off. I asked a crew member for help,  and it turned out to be the captain, he was so nice. He hurredly fixed it for me and showered me off, after that, I became very popular. It seems I got married to the captain somehow, must be some strange island custom. If a captain of a catamaran showers you off after swimming in the ocean, you're married. It was so funny, at first I didn't realize what he was saying when he called me wife, then I played along. It was of course all in fun, since I am already married, but we had fun the rest of the trip pretending. My mom asked me later why all the crew guys kept calling her mother. I laughed, and laughed. Once I told her why, she laughed too.

The captain, my husband (for the day anyway). I was treated like a queen, all the crew guys brought me food and drinks, it was so silly. They took lots of pictures of me, I figured they wanted me to remember how much fun I had. And I did.

It may not look it, but it was sunny enough that I got a serious sunburn. I was stupid and didn't re-apply the tanning lotion after I went swimming. It was overcast and I didn't think about it. Big mistake. No blisters but I was lobster red on certain parts of my body that were not happy about it. I liked the shot of me and the sail, good job guys.

The unfortunate thing was, I had put a fake tattoo on my back the night before to go with my cool formal dress, and didn't take it off. So, when I sunburned my back, the design didn't get burned.  When I took it off that night, I had a cool white design on my back, surrounded by red. It, of course, lasted for the rest of the cruise, and a few weeks after too. But hey, it did look cool.

The captain's chair, I got to sit there a while with him. After snorkeling, we had gone to another beach where we were allowed to swim off and go lay on a beach. We were served a fantastic lunch, and after that we put the sails up and sailed around the island. This is on our trip around the island, the captain even let me steer a little.

At the end it got really cloudy again, I was having so much fun I didn't want it to end, but they had to kick us off eventually. As a last ditch effort for the captain, the crew guys did threaten to tie me up and keep me there for him, but I said I had to go, no matter how much I wanted to stay, I had to return home to my love. So with a big sigh I stepped off the ship, and went shopping with mom.

Up next, Martinique....
